Thawing Instructions

*Perishable foods should never be thawed on the counter, or in hot water because even though the center of the package may still be frozen as it thaws on the counter, the outer layer of the food could be in the “Danger Zone,” between 40- and 140 F- temperatures where bacteria multiply rapidly.

Refrigerator Thawing

Planning ahead is the key to this method because of the lengthy time involved.  Depending on what temp you keep your fridge (35 or 40 degrees) can vary the time.  It could take up to 2 days to thaw our product using this method.

Cold Water Thawing

This method is much faster than refrigerator thawing but requires more attention.  The bag should be submerged in cold tap water, changing the water every 30 minutes so it continues to thaw.  Considering the amount of food in our bags, one bag should take less than two hours to thaw.  Our bags are vacuum sealed, so you do not have to worry about any product getting out or water getting in.

*ONCE THAWED PERISHABLE FOOD SHOULD NOT BE LEFT OUT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR MORE THAN 2 HOURS.  THIS ALSO MEANS LEAVING THIS FOOD IN YOUR DOGS BOWLS, REFRIGERATE ANY LEFTOVER FOOD AFTER 2 HOURS.
